Be Active - A Winter Walk

"It is the photographer’s job to see more than most people do. They must keep in them something of the child who looks at the world for the first time or of the traveller who enters a strange country. "

Some winter flowering shrubs are also scented. If you’re in a formally planted garden for this walk, you may well see several winter flowering shrubs, and it’s well worth checking them for scent.
What else might you smell? The air in winter can be damp, and this carries rich smells such as decaying leaves. If you’re out in the countryside, the smell of pine and bracken can be strong on winter days – pine trees create resin, which has a sharp smell, bracken smells woody. On really cold and frosty days the air can smell crisp and clean.
