Strengthen Your Thinking - Stitch a Bird on Paper

Step 3: Choose your paper

There are lots of papers and cards that you can stitch onto – choose one that’s strong enough to stitch onto, but not so thick that it’s difficult to use. Thin paper can be doubled over for strength. You don’t need fancy papers, you can use junk mail and re-cycled papers very effectively.

Step 4: Choose your sewing thread

Many embroidery threads and knitting yarns can be used, but avoid those with nubs or bobbles, which could catch on the paper. Fine smooth lightweight embroidery thread is the easiest to use.
