Personally. I like saving any activities that appeal to me to favourites so I can come back to them easily. It is laid out well.

It gave me something positive to think about and to work towards, things that seem achievable and able to do in little chunks, enjoyable, worthwhile and creative.

This is a gem of a site, a real find! So many craft activities look too difficult. I love the way activities are put in to chunks and you are encouraged to do it at your own pace, and that there are templates etc to print out for of you are not very confident. The word really needs to be spread about this website. Great idea for children, teens and adults, anyone who wants creative ideas weather or not they feel creative, good for people with fairly low energy, mental or physical illnesses. Just thinking about doing t he activity is ra positive thing.

I use the goal setting for myself and intend to use when offering workshops or mentoring. I also use the projects as a starting or moving on point for my own art & creative writing projects or incorporating them into workshops or as fun projects with friends

I was already familiar with some of the ideas (eg the recipe poem, which I have used in workshops before). What I find particularly useful is that each project is self contained, adaptable to use it as a quick exercise or a more extended activity and the way each project is broken up into easy stages, maintaining focus on every step.

Animation gallery
5th October 2012
Hi,
I really enjoyed creating my animation and adding the various themes, music and sound effects.
However, the animation gallery does not show other peoples animations that they have created. It just shows jpg photographs.
Apart from that the site is a useful resource and easy to use. Keep up the good work!

We aren't showcasing the Recipe For a Good Mood animations as our server would need to be gigantic. The jpegs which you can see in the gallery currently are photos of the Recipe For a Good Mood magnetic words which people have shared. You could take a screen grab of a favourite section of your Recipe and upload that. (prnt screen for PC and shift + cmd + 4 for mac) Best wishes Start2

I’ve really enjoyed exploring the Start2 website- it's really interactive and fun! I look forward to showing our student committee your activities. I’m sure it will inspire many of the students that we work with to think creatively about mental health promotion. Well done to everyone involved with the project!

My Ten Minute Walk
30th August 2012
Loving the Ten Minute Walk exercise.
I'm currently uploading my pics to my media album adding sound effects and such.
I like how easy the site allows you to navigate through and what with the the example videos you can't go wrong.
I intend to carry on with my media album for now
and what's great is I can do it in my own time.
Thank you Start2! : )

Brilliant resource for any age and ability. I especially like the extensive multi-media; virtual 360 degree museums, instruction videos, streaming music, illustrations etc. It makes for a great level of engagement and is easy to navigate. A vast amount of information is given on a wide range of artistic ideas. Well done to all involved, a great resource!

Brilliant :)

I have really enjoyed playing around on the Start2 website. It is obvious a lot of time and though has gone into designing it. It is easy to use and as activities are broken down into small sections it was easy to break off and return to it later (something very useful having a little one). I like the focus on finding yourself, connecting with nature and generally working on becoming (or perhaps going back to) being a more grounded individual. The website somehow manages to be friendly and welcoming, allowing you to feel that you can be creative even if you would not necessarily think of yourself as an 'arty' individual. I will definitely be recommending it to friends and colleagues.

it's nice to find something that aims to help people achieve creativity as a way to help with mental health and use the elements of poor mental health for good, rather than just trying to 'fix' everyone

Thank you Lisa for your feedback. Maybe if you complete the ten-minute photo walk and submit a photo to the e-card competition, then you could reward yourself with a chocolate treat! Or you could write a Recipe For a Good Mood to include chocolate :)

Something for absolutely everyone

It's hard to express just how wonderful this website is. When life gets hard it's sometimes impossible to see a way forward. Negative thoughts race through your head and the simplest tasks feel like climbing a mountain. Yes, counselling can help a lot but there is nothing more beneficial than learning to take control of your own life and well-being. I believe this website does just that; it empowers you. The content is staggering and there truly is something for everyone. I can only speak from my own experience but the exercises I've completed so far have both calmed my mind and put a big smile on my face and for that I thank you so very much. I will be recommending this website to everyone. Thank you again. xXx

I think what the site has to offer is fabulous and trying to educate people in to understanding how to read emotions and to empathise rather than criticise is one of life's essential tools we should all have. I also like how it subtly involves spiritual practices without preaching.
