How we use cookies within the Start2 resource

What cookies are for

When we provide services, we want to make them easy, useful and reliable.
Where services are delivered on the internet, this sometimes involves placing small amounts of information on the device you're using to view the resource, for example, your computer or mobile phone.

These include small files known as cookies. They cannot be used to identify you personally.

These pieces of information are used by Start2 to improve services for you by:

  • analysing anonymised data to help us understand how people interact with Start2 so we can continue improving the user experience

Managing cookies

There are two types of cookie you may encounter when using the internet:

  • First party cookies - Start2 does not store any first party cookies
  • Third party cookies - these are cookies found in other companies’ internet tools which are used to enhance websites, for example Google Analytics have their own cookies, which are controlled by them

Third party cookies

We use Google Analytics to help us accurately estimate the number of visitors to our websites and volumes of usage. Google Analytics set cookies - more information is available on the Google Code website.

Cookies allow web analytics services to recognise your browser or device and, for example, identify whether you have visited our website before, what you have previously viewed or clicked on, and how you found us. The information is anonymous and only used for statistical purposes. It allows us to track information, such as how many individual users we have and how often they visit our websites. It also helps us to analyse patterns of user activity and to develop a better user experience.
