Art and mindfulness 8-week course
Boost your resilience to stress through creativity
Manchester Art Gallery
Bringing together mindfulness, art and creativity we are delighted to introduce this exciting new course for adults. Combining theory and practice and using evidence-based techniques this course will be based upon the principles of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy programmes. Suitable for beginners and more experienced practitioners.
Anyone interested in developing ways to improve their health and wellbeing.
Mindfulness theory and practice will be introduced as a toolkit, a way to explore and notice physical and mental wellbeing. The arts and creative activities will provide a chance to practice mindfulness in an innovative and accessible way. The gallery’s rich exhibitions and collections will be used to illustrate the mindfulness concept further.
Each week we explore a different artwork and theme based on the principles of Mark Williams’ book Mindfulness: A Practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World.
