"Having done the Haiku exercise I felt a sense of calm and inspired to write more."
Step 3: Create your five line Sculpted Poem
We’re going to ask you to make your piece of writing into a five line poem. This is to help you with the final stage of the exercise. For now, we are not going to use rhyme.
Chop up your chosen words, rearrange them, add or take away words until you have a new piece of writing. You may have to take out some words or phrases to cut your piece down to five lines
Example:
Government of virtue
Orbiting the planets
Your order set in granite
Sweet marjoram we implore thee
Soothe the grief of the womb
Examples of five line poems using chosen words and phrases:
You'll see the five line poem which has used the above chosen phrases as its starting point.

First from seed of the plant is sown
after a while it roots in the ground
shooteth forth strings or threads
The hottest herb is thyme
That which grows upon colder herbs
Joy
The plant monster
It has a slender long spine and crown of stiff bristles
It eats worms and spiders and purplish hollow flowers
With its tongue it catches the dew and rain which falls
And it lives in a stately and beautiful plant
by the banks of a river.
