Make a viewfinder
An alternative to using a digital camera or 'phone, is to use a simple viewfinder.
- Cut a small piece of card or paper (maybe 4cm x 6cm) into a viewfinder or little ‘frame’ and hold that in front of your object (Not sure how to do it? Follow our step-by-step guide here)
- With one eye closed, move it around until it frames your object in the way you would like your drawing to look on the paper
Use this to draw from if you can, or just keep the view in your mind’s eye to help you plan your drawing.
