Connect to nature

Take a series of seasonal walks in the UK using our ‘How to look’ video and audio guides, which direct your attention to the sights, sounds and smells around you. Notice more as you take a walk. Awaken your curiosity, feel connected to nature, learn interesting facts about the wild world around you. Take a walk on your own, with friends or family.


Still your mind and change your focus by creating a sound map of sounds around you.

 

What might these exercises offer?

The ‘Connect to Nature’ exercise:

  • Teaches us about the natural world
  • Encourages us to take a calm slice out of a busy day and simply ‘be’
  • Builds concentration
  • Gives us pointers to help us connect with nature and look at nature more closely. Research tells us that connecting to and noticing our surroundings is good for our wellbeing
  • Gets us outdoors into the fresh air and sunlight. Studies indicate that being outside for even a small amount of time each day can lift our mood and help to combat stress

 

How long will the exercises take?
