Introduction

You will need :

• Large Feather 
• Craft knife 
• Cutting mat

 

Feathers : Can be bought from craft suppliers: turkey, goose and swan feathers are recommended.   

 

You could also use a found feather

For example:

if you find a large seagull feather on a beach

However always thoroughly wash and disinfect a found feather before use.  

 

You can also use these instructions to cut a nib into other similar tubular items, such as a reed or straw.
